Classification of Metals

At Metal Technology we have started to learn about the classification of metals. We learned about three types of metals: ferrous, non-ferrous and alloy metals. Here is a slideshow that I made to show my learning.

I also learned about the Properties of metals such as ductility, hardness, brittleness etc. Here is a slideshow to show my learning.

We are now moving on to our practicals. We have been split up into 2 groups. One is doing the F shape and the other is doing the drill gauge.

Week 3 - Creative Writing

So far this term in English, we have been learning about creative writing. For me, creative writing means it is a made up story that has language features to make it more interesting.

For the first week, we made posters that show what we thought the creative writing was.  Next, we learned about Haiku poems. We learned that there is a pattern to making it. It has to be 5 syllables for the first and third line and 7 syllables for the second line.

This is the poem I made about the four seasons:

It was very hard to make a haiku without using the words like summer, winter, autumn, spring which makes us think about things that associate with the following seasons.

The next week we learned about language features such as metaphors and similes. I learned that similes are a type of metaphors but they compare to things using as or like but metaphors are saying that something is something but is not true.

Ways to prevent strain injuries at a computer.

PREVENTING INJURIES

INTRO

Hi! I'm Ray and I'm a student at HHS. In DTE, we have been learning about proper ergonomics for the past few weeks. After that, we have been set a task to create an infographic to show what we've learned.
REFLECTION
I learned that if you have improper ergonomics in front of a computer you could get strain injuries like neck and lower back pains. So a good idea is to take breaks every hour to prevent this. It was hard to make make the infographic look consistent but I had to finish it so that I have something to blog about. Next time I would like to put more effort into it so it has more color rather than just black and white.
