I think that this poem is great because it uses a lot of metaphors and similes to describe what things are like.

starboard - right side of the boat

alveolus - bony part of a socket where the tooth goes in

fossick- looking for something

4. Making Connections
Normally, people grow older but in this poem, the person grows younger. It might be because when you lose a tooth, you look a bit younger.
